Let’s face it, we’d all like to be able to look a little bit younger.
After all, the world around us tells us every single day that being young and beautiful is the best thing in the world. Now, there’s a lot wrong with that, and there are plenty of people out there who are working tirelessly to break down these backward ideas of what makes a gives a woman value in this world. But sadly this is the world we live in, and it can be tough to feel as though you lack value because of the way you look.
Of course, getting older doesn’t mean that you have to sacrifice the way you look. If you want to keep looking good no matter how old you get then that’s great! The problem that a lot of women run into is the fact that their skin makes them look older than they are. Women in their twenties being mistaken for their thirties, women in their thirties mistaken for their forties, you get the idea. But what can you do? Is there some way that you can stop your skin from prematurely aging you? The answer is, of course, you can! Here are just a few incredibly simple things that you can do to stop your skin from aging you too fast!
Get enough sleep
If you want to suddenly make your skin brighter and more vibrant, the first thing you need to do is to start getting enough sleep! The reality of modern life is that we’re all so busy and we seem to have collectively decided that a decent night’s sleep is the thing that we’re willing to sacrifice. However, the truth is that without a decent night’s sleep not only are you going to feel horrible in the morning, but it’s really going to show on your face. It will give you huge bags under your eyes, it will make your skin dull, and generally, it’s going to be impossible to look your best if you feel more like the walking dead!
Stay hydrated
One of the other major issues when it comes to most people’s lifestyle in the modern era is that we’re not drinking enough water! Sure, people drink a lot throughout the day, but it’s generally things like coffee, tea, soft drinks, or alcohol, all of which are terrible at keeping you hydrated. If you’re drinking things like that, which are all diuretics, then you’re going to end up with skin that’s dry, oily and poorly hydrated. You’ll start to lose a lot of that plumpness and firmness that is so often associated with healthy skin. There’s no specific limit on how much you should be drinking every day but around two liters per day is a good amount to aim for. And less than that and you’re not going to be able to stay hydrated, and more and it’s just going to get flushed straight out of anyway. Not only is this going to help your skin look firmer and younger, but it’s generally going to make you a whole lot feel better as well.
Try some skin treatments
There are a lot of skin treatments out there that promise to help your skin younger and healthier looking and some of, to be perfectly honest, simply don’t work. As with any beauty or health treatment, you’ve got wade through a lot of stuff that’s terrible and doesn’t work before you get to the stuff that will actually help you. Luckily there are also things that do work. There are plenty of microtreatment options out there for you to use that can be incredibly effective and helping you get that youthful firmness to your skin. Of course, some treatments work for some people and some work for others; it’s a good idea to look around at what kinds of options there are and decide what’s right for you. Not only that but remember that many of these options are not exactly cheap and you need to make sure that you’re making the right choice before you go spending a lot of money on something that might not work.
Find the best possible products
In the same way that some treatments don’t work, not all skincare products are made equal, and you’re going to have to dig through plenty of stuff that does nothing before you find ones that work. Fortunately, there are some telltale signs of things that will actually help. For one thing, if a product promises instant results and some kind of miracle cure, it’s probably not going to work. No matter how good a product might be, it’s not magic. Similarly, if you see the ingredient retinol on the packaging, then there’s a good chance that it’s going to have at least some kind of impact on your skin.
Go without makeup
Makeup is great! It lets you express yourself, helps you feel more confident, and can help you make an outfit really pop. However, if you’re piling on the makeup every single day then your skin simply isn’t going to get the chance to breathe. That means you’re going to end up with blocked pores, dry skin, and you could even end up breaking out in spots because of it. As wonderful as makeup can be, it’s a good idea to go without it for at least a couple of days a week if not more. That way you not only allow your skin some air and space to breath, but you’re going to be able to learn to appreciate your bare face just that little bit more.
Again, it’s important to remember that you only have to do these things if it’s something that impacts you and your perception of yourself. If you’re happy with your skin, then it makes no difference what anyone else tries to tell you. If you feel beautiful, then you should embrace that every single day and never try to change for anyone else!
